The Joy of Getting to Know Your Own Skin with the NeoVoir I plus

Our clinic uses the NeoVoir I plus (Ci Labo Inc.) as its skin analyzer. There are several skin analyzers, each with its own features. The NeoVoir I plus is made in Japan and is a high-end model developed for clinics and research institutions. It performs precise skin analysis using four types of LED light source. Using an 18-megapixel Canon camera, it can display high-quality 1920×1080 images. You can take the analysis data home by scanning a QR code with your smartphone.

What the NeoVoir I plus Can Show

The NeoVoir I plus takes continuous images using four LED light sources—standard light, gloss light, polarized light, and ultraviolet light—and can reveal skin features such as the following.

Standard light: pores, wrinkles, dark circles
Gloss light: radiance, future wrinkles, fine wrinkles, skin texture
Polarized light: redness, brownness, and blackheads in the pores show up well.
Ultraviolet light: sebum, melanin, porphyrins (substances produced by C. acnes)

What the NeoVoir I plus Can Tell You

From each image taken, and by combining them, the condition of the skin can be analyzed and evaluated.

Standard light: skin type, number of pores
Standard light and gloss light: the location and number of current wrinkles, and the “pre-wrinkles” that will become wrinkles in the future
Standard light and ultraviolet light: existing spots and hidden spots
Polarized light: redness
Polarized light and ultraviolet light: epidermal pigmentation, melanin
Ultraviolet light: amount of sebum, distribution of C. acnes

AI-Based Melasma Detection

Through joint research between Ci Labo Inc. and a national university, a function to detect melasma was implemented for the first time in the world in May 2025. It was developed by collecting and analyzing the clinical data of more than 2,000 people from 11 clinics nationwide. For the treatment of spots, the treatment approach changes depending on whether melasma is present. There are cases where applying a laser to a solar lentigo reveals previously undetected melasma, so this is considered an important function in terms of preventing oversights.
