Electroporation Mesona-J
What Are Electroporation and Mesoporation?
The skin has a barrier that keeps external substances from easily getting in and keeps substances inside the skin from getting out. While this is important as a form of immunity that prevents external irritation and the entry of foreign matter, it also blocks the penetration of cosmetic ingredients.
The technique of using electrical stimulation to open hydrophilic micropores in the intercellular lipids of the skin’s keratin cells is called electroporation. The method of using electrical and mechanical force to deliver various active ingredients through the skin via these micropores is called mesoporation.
Unlike iontophoresis or ultrasound delivery, mesoporation can deliver multiple active ingredients into the skin painlessly at the same time, including non-ionized ingredients and high-molecular-weight ingredients (collagen, hyaluronic acid, growth factors, and the like).
Mesoporation Is Recommended For
- Those who want to improve their skin quality
- Those concerned about dryness or rough skin
- Those whose acne scars are slow to heal
- Those troubled by spots, dullness, or dark circles
- Those who have started to notice fine wrinkles
- Those with facial redness who flush easily
- Those who want to improve their skin’s firmness and glow
- Those who cannot take downtime
- Those who do not like pain
- Those who want regular care to maintain beautiful skin
Mesona-J

The device we use for mesoporation treatments is called the Mesona-J. The Mesona-J is a Japanese-made medical device and is the only transdermal delivery device to have passed both the JIS standard and EMC testing, demonstrating a high level of safety.
Using a special pulse waveform, the Mesona-J passes a current of several tens to several hundred volts to temporarily change the properties of the cell membranes, creating an environment in which ingredients penetrate easily. It can deliver cosmetic ingredients into the skin without damaging it.
Also, because the gaps in the cell membranes open only while the current is flowing, it places no great burden on the skin. Reactions such as redness, swelling, and bruising normally do not occur, making it one of the relatively low-burden cosmetic treatments with no downtime.

Frequency of Mesoporation Treatments
You can feel results from even a single mesoporation treatment, but multiple sessions are recommended for lasting effects. To help you feel the results more and maintain good skin condition, our clinic recommends a total of four to five sessions at intervals of two to four weeks.
Side Effects and Risks of Mesoporation
Mesoporation is usually a treatment with almost no side effects or downtime. You can wear makeup right after the treatment.
However, because it uses electricity, you may feel a slight tingling, which is more noticeable in areas close to the bone. The stimulation of the treatment itself may cause mild redness, but this resolves within a few hours to a few days. Rarely, if you are allergic to a cosmetic ingredient, redness, swelling, or itching may occur.
*It is not recommended when you have severe dermatitis, such as from a cosmetic reaction.
